But occasionally, surgery is beneficial. Your doctor may advise surgery if your uterus is partially divided and you've lost a pregnancy without a clear medical reason. You could keep a future pregnancy if you do this.

If you also have a double vagina in addition to a double uterus, surgery might be beneficial. The tissue wall dividing the two vaginas is removed during the surgery. This might ease labor slightly.
