In order to gain admission to any PG Medical courses like MD, MS, MDS, DM, MCh, etc in any government, private, deemed, and central universities across India, the most important eligibility prerequisite is that of an entrance exam. These PG medical entrance exams are conducted at the National level.

NEET or National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Postgraduate courses is the largest, most important common entrance exams in India. Candidates who wish to gain admission in a PG course at any government, private, deemed or central university across India must appear for the exam. It is conducted by NBE (National Board of Examinations).
The next PG medical entrance exam 2023 is scheduled to be held on March 5, 2023.

Candidates eligible for medical PG exam 2023 can apply online at the official website - nbe.edu.in. The application process comprises of registration, filling up of personal and academic details, uploading of images and payment of application fee.
The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Postgraduate Entrance Examination (INI-CET) is a national level entrance examination conducted by the AIIMS for admission to various postgraduate medical courses offered at AIIMS institutes across the country. The selection of candidates for admission to AIIMS PG courses will be based on their performance in the entrance exam. Candidates who qualify the entrance exam are called for counseling through which they are allotted seats as per their preferences and rank in the merit list.
The next INI-CET exam will be conducted on 13th November, 2022.

Application Process
Candidates will be required to fill in the online application form and submit it along with the requisite fee. You will first need to register yourself on the website and fill in the necessary details. Then upload your recent passport size photograph and signature. After successful submission of the application form, you are required to pay the application fee through credit/debit card or net banking. After the submission of the form, you will be allotted a roll number.

Prior to 2020, candidates interested in pursuing their postgraduate medical studies from Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER), Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) and National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS) had to appear for seperate entrance exams. However, this was changed when the entrance exams for JIPMER, PGIMER & NIMHANS were merged with INI-CET.
As of now, candidates will be granted admission to these institutions on the basis of their INI-CET score.
