INI-CET Exam Analysis: November '24 Session

The INI-CET exam for the November 2024 session, held on November 10th by the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, has successfully concluded. This session was eagerly awaited by aspiring candidates, especially with recent updates and changes in the exam pattern. INI-CET Exam Analysis

To provide an accurate and detailed analysis, we gathered feedback from our students who appeared for the INI-CET exam. Here are the main questions we asked and their responses.

How Would You Rate The Difficulty Of Exam? 

75% of students found the exam to be moderate.

Whereas, 12.5% of students found the exam to be on the difficult side, and the remaining 12.5% of them found it to be surprisingly easy. 

Were the Questions Easy, Moderate, or Difficult?

The majority of students described the INI-CET exam as having a moderate level of difficulty, with several responses indicating a range from moderate to moderately difficult. A few students found the questions on the easier side but noted that certain questions were tricky or required careful interpretation. 

Others mentioned that, despite the manageable nature of the topics, the exam featured lengthy questions that added to the challenge. 

Overall, the exam was perceived as moderate to difficult, combining a mix of direct and complex questions that tested both knowledge and comprehension.

What Was the General Pattern of the Questions?

The students were asked about the general pattern of the questions in the exam, and here is what they had to say. 

• Concept-based: 43.8%
• Clinical questions: 18.8%
• One-liners: 37.5%

Which Subjects Had the Lowest and Highest Weightage?

Based on the responses from candidates, Pathology, Microbiology, PSM, and Surgery were among the subjects with the highest weightage in the exam, each noted as having significant representation. On the other hand, Physiology, Biochemistry, Pediatrics, and ENT were observed to have comparatively lower weightage, making them less dominant in the question distribution.

How Many Questions Were Attempted?

• 151-200 questions: 81.3%
• 101-150 questions: 12.5%
• 50-100 questions: 6.3%

Was the Exam Easy to Finish Within the Allocated Time?

• Yes: 87.5%
• No: 12.5%

How were Difficult Questions Framed?

• Easy but confusing options: 50%
• Difficult clinical scenario-based: 18.8%
• Unheard one-liners: 31.3%

Was Any Specific Strategy Employed During The Exam?

According to the responses we’ve gotten from the survey, the candidates appeared to employ a plethora of strategies during the INI-CET exam to optimize performance. 

Some students emphasized focusing directly on the options to streamline decision-making. Others prioritized previous years' INI-CET questions and related topics in their final week of preparation. 

Time management was crucial for many, with some tackling relatively easier questions first, followed by a review of more challenging ones. 

Staying calm and positive was a recurring theme, with one student reminding themselves that a single exam does not determine their future. Mnemonics and option elimination were also popular strategies, as was the approach of solving questions they felt confident about first, before moving to clinical or unfamiliar questions.

What Was the Overall Exam Experience Like?

The general consensus among candidates was that the INI-CET exam presented a mix of straightforward and tricky questions, making it challenging yet manageable for most. 

While some students felt good immediately after the exam, the recall process brought mixed emotions, with some feeling less confident upon reflection. 

Overall, many found the exam to be comfortable, crediting their preparation through mock tests and previous years' papers as helpful. The question set included a combination of factual one-liners, tricky questions, and clinical, concept-based scenarios, which tested both memory and understanding.

How was the INI-CET Nov ‘24 Paper?

The INI-CET 2024 exam was generally perceived by candidates as challenging but fair. With a balanced mix of moderate to difficult questions, it assessed both core knowledge and clinical application skills. 

As expected, the exam leaned towards concept-based and clinical questions, with subjects like Anatomy, Pharmacology, Ophthalmology, Medicine, and Orthopedics being the most prominent.
