If you are a NEET PG aspirant, you must know how crucial and overwhelming it is to secure admission to a government medical college. We are sure that it is a dream come true for all of you. However, due to limited seats and severe competition, it is not at all a cakewalk.
One of the most recurring questions among candidates is “How many marks do I need in NEET PG to get into a government medical college?”
To be very honest, we don’t have a straightforward answer to your question. This is because the required marks keep on fluctuating each year based on several factors.
Your NEET PG score requirement depends on elements including exam difficulty, seat availability, and your category (General, OBC, SC/ST, EWS, PwD, etc.). As the clinical branches are competitive, they require higher scores for admission.
This blog covers the minimum cut-off scores, the rank required for different medical specializations, and everything else you need to know about previous cutoff scores.
The qualifying percentile is the benchmark set by NBE, below which a candidate is not eligible for counseling.
While qualifying for NEET PG is necessary, securing a seat in a government medical college—especially in a clinical branch—requires much higher scores.
The number of marks you need depends on three major factors:
