All You Need To Know About UP NEET PG 2024 Counselling

The National Board of Examinations (NBE) declared the result for the NEET PG 2024 examination on March 14, 2024, and ever since that, all the students who secured good ranks have been waiting for the NEET PG 2024 counselling. 

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) conducts NEET PG counselling every year for seat allotment to all qualified candidates.  

UP NEET PG Counselling 2024

The Directorate of Medical Education and Training (DMET) conducts the UP NEET PG counselling every year. Candidates who have cracked the NEET PG 2024 exam must register for counselling on the official website and submit their application. 

It must be noted that UP Medical PG counselling is conducted for the 50% state quota seats in government medical/dental colleges and for seats that are available in private colleges. 

DMET will conduct the counselling for the seat allocation in 891 MD/MS/PG Diploma and 32 MDS seats under the 50% state quota seats.

Important Dates: UP NEET PG Counselling 2024

The results of the first round of seat allocation for Uttar Pradesh NEET PG have been released by the Office of the Director General, Medical Education and Training. Applicants with allocated seats must complete admission by reporting to institutions between August 16 and August 20. Round 2 of UP NEET UG 2024 Counselling has started. New applicants can register on upneet.gov.in. The merit list will be out on August 19, and choice filling begins on August 21.

Eligibility Criteria: UP NEET PG Counselling 2024

• Students must have passed their MBBS from a recognised medical institute located in Uttar Pradesh.
• Only those students who have passed MBBS from the State Government Medical colleges/Institutes/Universities and recognised private medical colleges/universities of Uttar Pradesh are eligible for admissions in State Quota seats. 
• Students who are from Uttar Pradesh but have completed their MBBS from another state are only eligible for admission to Private Medical colleges/universities. 
• Candidates must have completed their one-year compulsory rotatory internship on or before 31st July 2024.

UP NEET PG Counselling 2024 Process

UP NEET PG counselling begins with Online Application and Registration. Take note of the following during the online application and registration process. 

• Candidates who wish to take part in the UP NEET PG counselling process must register themselves online at the official website. 
• It is recommended that candidates must register online using the same mobile number and email id used during the NEET PG registration. 
• Candidates will be redirected to the application form for UP NEET PG Counselling 2024 post the completion of the registration process. 
• Candidates must read the application form and fill in the required details carefully.
• Candidates will have to pay a non-refundable online registration fee of Rs 3,000. The same can be paid through Net banking/Debit Card/Credit Card.

State Merit List Declaration

A merit list for candidates who have registered for the UP NEET PG 2024 counselling will be prepared and uploaded on the official website. The merit list of the students will be released on the basis of the marks obtained in the NEET PG 2024 exam. 

Only those candidates who are included in the state merit list will be participating in the NEET PG counselling. 

Online Choice Filling 

The choice filling form can be accessed by logging into the official website with your NEET PG roll number and password created at the time of registration. Note that the choice filling can be done several times till the final locking. Candidates are also advised to save and continue the form during choice filling to avoid losing data. 

Until you do not finally submit and lock, your choice filling will not be considered complete. And once you have locked your choice, you can’t make any changes. Candidates who fail to lock their choices will not be considered for the seat allotment. 

Allotment of Seat

The DMET prepares the seat allotment list based on the choices filled by the candidates, seats availability and the inter-se merit of the candidate. After the final list is uploaded on the official website, selected candidates who wish to retain their seats must report to the respective nodal centre before the deadline approaches. 

Please note that if a candidate fails to report to the college/nodal centre, his/her seat will be forfeited. Once a candidate has been allotted a seat in the UP NEET PG counselling, he/she must pay the course/tuition fee in order to confirm their admission.
