With a factual and concise syllabus, Polity is one of the easiest subjects to score high marks. Indian Polity questions asked in the Prelims can cover both static as well as the dynamic part, hence one should have a proper strategy to prepare for the subject.
We have listed a few simple yet effective tips that will help you to effectively prepare for the exams.
It is easy to make fundamental concepts strong and understand Indian Polity with Class IX, X, and XI NCERT textbooks. The simplicity of these textbooks makes them an interesting read. To enhance your preparation, you can also refer to India Polity by M. Laxmikanth. This book is considered as the bible for the Indian Polity.
It is a wise idea to read newspapers daily as many questions are asked from the recently announced schemes. Newspapers such as “The Hindu” and “The Indian Express” are excellent source of knowledge. Pay attention to news and editorials related to the Indian constitution, National and International Political systems.
They will acquaint and help you to understand the nature and the type of questions asked in the recent years. Subsequently, you will be able to prepare with much ease. Solving previous year’s papers will also help you in revision.
Consider your preparation incomplete if you haven’t solved a Mock Test. To effectively prepare and score more in Indian Polity, you should schedule at least 2 mock tests per week in the initial stages of preparation, and 1 mock test per day when the exam approaches closer.
You should not mug up all the Articles of the Indian Constitution. It is humanly not possible! Only a few important articles are necessary. Others will automatically get registered if you have done enough revisions of the subject.
