Tracheal Dilator
It has flat, lightweight, thin and springy blade with superficial, longitudinal serrations throughout the blade · Non-crushing clamp · Uses→ It clamps intestine to prevent spillage of intestinal contents.
It has deep longitudinal serrations · It is a heavy instrument with stout handle · Works on double lever mechanism - First lever→Opposes blade firmly , Second lever→Multiplies exerted pressure · It has tooth and groove→It locks blade fully.
Uses - Resection and anastomosis of bowel o Gastrectomy.
It is paperclip like instrument · It has spring loaded handle→Permits secure grip of vessels · Blade has fine transverse serrations · Used for temporary occlusion of small peripheral blood vessels.
It has mutilple angulations with vertical grooves and fine transverse serrations · Used for → Paral occlusion of large blood vessel like IVC, SVC, Aorta and its branches.
It is lighter than mayo's · It has short blade and long sha · Uses - Fine dissections, Cut delicate structures like 1. To open peritoneum 2. To dissect sac from cord 3. To cut the intestine in resection and anastomosis.
