Date Event 23rd July 2021 NEET-SS 2021 dates are announced (13th and 14th November) 31st August 2021 The NBE announces a significant change in the exam pattern - Following the last-minute changes, 41 doctors file a plea and shared their concerns 27th September 2021 Responding to the petition, Justices DY Chandrachud and BV Nagarathna questioned the National Board of Examinations (NBE) for the last-minute changes. They asked why the new changes could not be implemented from next year as doctors start preparing for the Super Speciality exam months in advance. 5th October 2021 The NBE says that the recently introduced pattern is more flexible, and will ensure that no SS seats remain vacant. It proposes to postpone the NEET-SS 2021 to January 2022. 5th October 2021 Considering the adverse impact of the changes on the aspirants, the SC gives Centre 24 hours to revert to the old pattern. 6th October 2021 The Centre tells the Supreme Court that it will implement the new pattern from 2022-2023 academic year; The NEET SS 2021 will be conducted as per the old pattern.
