NBE recently released a statement that it will be conducting NEET-SS (NEET Super Speciality) on June 10th 2017.
In an exclusive conversation with media, Prof (Dr.) Bipin Batra, Executive Director of NBE clarified various issues pertaining to NEET SS.

Conducting Authority for NEET SS 2017
The organizing authority for NEET-SS 2017 will be National Board of Examinations (NBE).

Scope of Examination
NEET-SS will serve as a single window entrance examination for admission to DM/M.ch/PDCC courses. No other entrance examination either at the State level or any Institutional level exam conducted by any University or medical colleges will be applicable in accordance to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 with effect from 2017 admission session.
NEET-SS will serve as the sole gateway for admission to Super Specialty Courses which include the following:
- DM/M.ch/PDCC courses at all Private Medical Colleges/Deemed Universities/Institutions & Universities across the nation
- DM/M.ch/PDCC courses at Armed Forces Medical Service Institutions
Scheme of NEET-SS 2017
NEET-SS 2017 will be organized in all specialities. Candidates possessing MD/MS/DNB degree are eligible for pursuing Super-Speciality courses in the nation.
A candidate is allowed to appear for NEET-SS in one discipline of eligible entry level qualification.

Exceptions to NEET-SS 2017/States Exempted from NEET-SS
NEET-SS will serve as the sole gateway for admission to DM/M.ch Super Speciality courses in the nation. No other entrance examination either at the State or the Institutional level will be applicable for entry to DM/M.ch courses according to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 with effect from 2017 Admission session.
Qualifying NEET-SS will be mandatory for gaining admission to Super-Speciality courses under various universities/institutions in the nation.
No State Government/Private Medical Colleges/Universities are exempted from NEET-SS.
Test Centers for NEET-SS
The precise number of Test Centers will be notified in the Information Bulletin & Website in due course.
Curriculum of NEET-SS
The exam level will be of PG exit level in the concerned specialty according to the latest curriculum notified/adopted by the MCI in concerned MD/MS qualification.

Counseling for DM/M.ch/PDCC Diploma Seats
NBE will play no role in counseling/allotment of seats. Candidates will have to contact/apply to the concerned State Medical Directorate/Counseling Authorities of the States/UT/Medical Colleges/Private Universities for admission as per their choice and fulfillment of eligibility criteria.
